Hasbro Announces Iconic Ranger David Yost Joins the Cast of “Power Rangers Cosmic Fury,” Unveils September 29th Premiere Date

NEW YORK, NY (August 17, 2023) – It’s Morphin Time! Hasbro’s entertainment studio, eOne, today announced that Power Rangers Cosmic Fury will debut exclusively on Netflix on September 29, 2023, bringing the iconic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast member, David Yost, to the galactic-themed series as his original character, Billy Cranston. Fans can watch and listen to the show’s brand-new theme, composed and arranged by Bert Selen to prepare them for Cosmic Fury’s out-of-this-world experience.

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury welcomes you to outer space! For the first time in nearly three decades, Power Rangers is entering into a third season with the same core cast of Rangers: Russell Curry (Zayto); Hunter Deno (Amelia Jones); Kai Moya (Ollie Akana); Tessa Rao (Izzy Garcia); Chance Perez (Javi Garcia); Jordon Fite (Aiyon) and Jacqueline Joe (Fern). The Dino Fury Rangers are going to space with new powers, new costumes, new weapons, and, of course, new Zords! As a core character, appearing in all ten episodes of the series, Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger, Billy Cranston played by David Yost will assist the Cosmic Fury team in fighting Lord Zedd. Simon Bennett serves as Executive Producer.

SHOW LOGLINE: Lord Zedd has escaped, and this time his rampage extends to the farthest reaches of space! The Rangers need to find new Zords and new powers to face Zedd’s latest threat, and they won’t do so alone. BILLY CRANSTON – CHARACTER DESCRIPTION: In the beginning of season 30, Billy, the MMPR Blue Triceratops Ranger, joins the Dino Fury Rangers in fighting back against the gravest threat the universe has known. Ever the tech genius and master of logic, Billy’s help is crucial to the Rangers in their battle against Lord Zedd. Billy’s expertise shines as the team rallies to fend off both a galactic invasion and the potential undoing of all the good that came from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers team.

Inspired by Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, Hasbro released the Power Rangers Cosmic Fury Cosmic Morpher, now available at Target, Amazon and Entertainment Earth. The Cosmic Morpher is an electronic role play toy that uses unique sound-scanning technology that will “listen” to Power Rangers episodes playing on your tv, tablet, and more and react to what it “hears,” letting kids to interact and imagine that they’re morphin into action as Power Rangers!

Hasbro/eOne Announces POWER RANGERS COSMIC FURY

NEW YORK, NY – August 28, 2022: Hasbro’s entertainment studio Entertainment One (eOne) announces the highly anticipated 30th season of the global franchise “Power Rangers.” “Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury” will begin filming this Fall in New Zealand and will debut in 2023. The announcement comes on Power Rangers Day (August 28), capping off Hasbro’s Power Week.

For the first time since the original “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” debuted in 1993, the current cast of “Power Rangers: Dino Fury” will be returning as the beloved Power Rangers for a third season. In “Power Rangers: Dino Fury,” an army of powerful alien beings is unleashed on Earth threatening life as we know it. The team of Power Rangers, fueled by the prehistoric power of the dinosaurs, are recruited to deal with the threat. The adventure continues in “Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury,” with the team heading out to space!

Returning cast members include Russell Curry, Hunter Deno, Jordon Fite, Kai Moya, Chance Perez, and Tessa Rao. “Cosmic Fury” will also see the return of showrunner Simon Bennett and writers Becca Barnes and Alywn Dale.

“Since the first episode of Power Rangers Dino Fury, this team of Power Rangers has broken the mold of the franchise in many ways, so it is exciting and humbling to be able to continue the story of these characters in Power Rangers Cosmic Fury,” said Simon Bennett. “Power Rangers Dino Fury Season 2 ends with some big revelations, and we’re so grateful to Hasbro and eOne that we get to continue to tell these stories in a brand new way.”

The first half of “Power Rangers: Dino Fury” Season 2 is currently available on Netflix. The second half of the season will premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 29, 2022.  Additionally, Hasbro’s toy line, inspired by the series, is available online and in stores now.

Power Rangers Dino Fury Cast and Crew to Return for Power Rangers Cosmic Fury

Surprisingly announced on The Hasbro Pulse Twitter account, possibly by accident due to the time of day, the next season of Power Rangers, Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, will be a continuation of Power Rangers Dino Fury, with the complete cast and crew returning!

Why is this a big deal? Well, for one thing, it means that the extremely popular creative forces behind Power Rangers Dino Fury will stay intact and be able to continue the work they began when the series first premiered last year. But, this is also the first time the cast has been retained for a second series since the Zordon Era. Starting with Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, we’ve had a completely new team of Rangers for each series.No word yet on what Sentai series

Despite a lot of speculation, there has been no official word on what Super Sentai series will be adapted for Power Rangers Cosmic Fury, but there is a Dino Fury panel scheduled at Power Morphicon, so expect more information to be revealed there.
